Project Profile
Value: US$8,000 Million
Contract Type: Feasibility Study
Project Status: Contract Awarded
Startup Year: 2014
Location: Bazargan, border Iran/Turkey and Bandar Assaluyeh, Iran
The project will see the construction of a proposed Igat-9 pipeline, which would stretch over 1,800 kilometers north from the Gulf port of Assaluyeh — where all South Pars gas is processed to the town of Barzagan on the Turkish border. Previous IGAT projects have included:
IGAT-7 Gas Pipeline (Assaluyeh to Iranshahr)
This project involved the construction of a 900-km IGAT-7 gas pipeline that runs from Assaluyeh to Iranshahr in Sistan-Baluchistan province close to the Pakistan border, and was then proposed to be linked to the Iran-Pakistan-India pipeline. A seabed offshoot is planned to transfer Iran\'s gas to Oman.
IGAT 5 gas trunkline
This project involved the construction of a line that linked phases 6-8 of the South Pars gas development with the Aghajari oil field for gas injection. IGAT 5 was initially part of South Pars 6-8 but was outsourced to reduce financial requirements for the South Pars scheme. The pipeline is more than 510km long and will deliver sour gas for reinjection into Aghajari oil field. The project also included a booster gas compression station on the pipeline.
IGAT-3 and 4 Pumping Station
This project included 50 gas turbines that were installed in 18 locations and four pumping stations.
Operator of the IGAT-9 is:
National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC)
