Project Profile
Value: US$5,000 million
Water Depth: 30 m
Location: Al-Khafji, Divided Zone, Saudi-Kuwaiti
Production: 300,000-b/d
Start-up Year: 2014
The project will see a joint venture - five year investment programme for the Divided Zone to increase crude output by 100,000, to 700,000 bpd. Includes preparation of FEED, preliminary and detailed engineering studies, EPC bid packages and overseeing project schedules and related works. The offshore projects include: platform modifications, replacing the existing pneumatic control system with new digital control system and related power and instrumentation works; installation of new flow stations (Y1B and Y2B), a production separator with booster pumps, flare jacket bridge, helideck, oil transmission line, submarine cables, power control system and associated facilities; installation of multi-phase flow meters on several well jackets for remote monitoring; and installation of a 42\",43km gas, and a 36\", 43km oil pipelines between Y2B and onshore. The project is located in an area of 40kms offshore in a water depth of 30 metres. The exploration results put Dorra’s gas reserves at 20 trillion to 35 trillion cubic feet, and estimate that the field could produce about 600 million cubic feet of gas per day. The production will be shared between Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Iran. Dorra extends into Iran and is called Arash there.
