Baiji oil refinery is Iraq\'s largest oil refinery located in Baiji city of Iraq and produces a third of the country\'s oil output. The refinery is located at 130 miles north of Baghdad, about halfway between Baghdad and Mosul. By 2008, 500 tanker trucks filled with fuel used to leave the refinery per day. The project includes the upgrade of the Baiji Refinery. The upgrade comprises :-
Lube Oil Complex: Restoration of the second lube oil plant train to full design capacity of 50,000 bpd, including rehabilitation of propane deasphalting units, vaccum distillation units, furfural units, methylethyl keton dewaxing units, lube hydro finishing units and blown asphalt units.
Hydro Hard Wax Units: Installation of new units.
Heavy Oil Conversion Units: Rehabilitation to their original 31,000 bpd capacity.
A 19,660 bpd isomerisation unit.
