The project will look to double the capacity of bromine production, by adding a further 50,000 to 60,000 metric tonnes per annum to the existing plant. The operators will increase the capacity of bromine derivatives and size of its bromine ISO tank fleet. The expansion is set to align with market requirements and demand, as bromine production is falling in China. Bromine is used in fire retardants and has other industrial applications.
