Project Profile
Value: $500 Million
Startup Year: 2012
Location: Ras Laffan Industrial City
The project will see the construction of a polysilicon plant, which will produce polysilicon with 99.99% purity for use in fabricating solar panels. The plant will produce around 3,500 tonnes per annum of polysilicon and will be designed with future expansion in mind.
The facility will use gas-powered generators, as well as an exhaust recuperation plant for poly production, which will help lower the energy consumption and production cost. The plant is to be established in Ras Laffan Industrial City and will be one of the first operational polysilicon plants in the Gulf region.
