Basra Crude Export Expansion Project is located in Al Basra, Iraq. The project comprises a 10 km onshore pipeline that connects inland oil storage with offshore shipping terminals. It also includes the installation of 45 km trunk line and a single-point mooring station (SPM), in addition to a pipeline-end manifold supplied by SBM Offshore Company. The project also includes the construction of new oil export facilities, to support the existing Al-Basra terminal in Iraq. The project construction began in December 2013 and the it was completed in Q1 2015. Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) financed the project as part of the international agreement made between the Government of Japan and the Iraqi Ministry of Oil in October 2005. The agreement consists of US$6 billion in loans to support the reconstruction of Iraq through a number of projects.
