The project will see the construction of a new sulphur handling and export terminal at the port of Ruwais in the Western region of Abu Dhabi. It will include loading and storage facilities that will bring the port’s total sulphur capacity up to 20,000 tonnes a day (t/d).
The project will also have a two 1,100 tonne/day granulation units, a 11,000 tonne cylindrical liquid and solid storage tank, unloading pit and stations, a transfer and unloading pump, sulphur transfer conveyors, sulphur transfer conveyors and piping work and related facilities.
The marine works will include the construction of a 300 metre-long 12 metre-wide loading berth capable of handling 65,000 dwt Panamax vessels. The dredging of 4 million cubic metres to deepen the access channel and turning basin.
There will also be export jetty.
