The project is to gather 3,000 MMcfd of associated natural gas in the southern part of the country. The agreement enables fast development of Iraq\'s associated gas resources. While Iraq\'s domestic power industry will use most of the gas; other volumes could be exported as LNG via a floating liquefaction facility off Basra. The prospective LNG facility would have a 600 MMcf/d gas processing capacity and would be built by Shell and Mitsubishi.
