A 25-year agreement signed for exploration and development of the concession. The work programme is to include; the development of the Zora gas field, horizontal drilling of two wells drilled by Crescent Petroleum; completion of drilling work; installation of offshore platforms for immediate processing and production, and the transportation of processed gas via a 25km offshore pipeline, which is to be installed by Dana. Exploration work will see geological and evaluation studies being undertaken, the acquisition of a seismic survey and the drilling of exploration wells. Also located within the concession area is the Sharjah 2 well which flowed at rates of 41 million cubic feet per day when drilled in 2001. The production well has been completed and cleaned up.
