The Cheshmeh Khosh oilfield is located in Ilam Province and was first discovered in 1967. Austria’s OMV AG signed a MOU with NIOC for evaluation of various fields in the Zagros area of western Iran. The MOU includes enhanced oil recovery and technology research and swaps of crude oil and products. Cheshmeh-khosh’s associated gas will be sent to a gas compression station (as rich gas) for injection in Cheshmeh-Khosh field after the installation of the station.The field currently requires 120 mcf/d gas injection from the Qaleh Nar gas field.
