Project Profile
Value: Undisclosed
Location: Southwestern Iran, in the northwest of the Persian Gulf
Production: 20,000 to 25,000 bpd
Reserves: 1.5 billion barrels of recoverable crude oil
Start-up year: the late 1950s
The Hendijan Field is located in the northwest section of the Persian Gulf. It is about 10km northeast of Bahregansar, 34km southwest of Tangu and 42km southwest of Rag-e-Sefid fields.
This oil field is one of the richest natural oil reservoirs in Iran. The oil produced by this field is of 26° to 27° API.
This offshore platform contains 9 wells on satellite platforms and raw offshore material transport trough 10” and 12” pipeline in 10 km to Bahregansar onshore facilities. After preliminary treatment and refinery, the product will transfer to Bahregan.
Hendijan is connected to the Bahregansar field (also offshore), and crude oil from these two fields is exported through Iran’s Kharg terminal. In 2008 Iran increased the reserve estimate of recoverable crude at Hendijan from 500 million barrels to 1.5 billion.
Pipe laying and installation activities of pipeline project including engineering services, construction and installation of pipeline spools and riser connections and also laying pipeline No.7 and 8 on the sea bed in the depth of 3 metres (shallow water) is completed.
Project Scope of work:
Engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of the following sub-projects:
1. Construction of 2 wellhead offshore platforms (dry weight=3600tons) – underway (December, 2014)
2. Pipe-laying of 4.5 km subsea pipeline
3. Subsea cabling in 26km
Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) has a plan to carry out EARLY PRODUCTION OF NORTHERN HENDIJAN OIL FIELD (HD6 ONSHORE) project. This plan will include installations of an unmanned New Oil Gathering Platform and a Wellhead area with all necessary equipment and flow lines as follows:
1. Wellhead area (HD6 Onshore) facilities related to three development wells.
2. One New Oil Gathering Platform (CH-OP) in west side of onshore HD6 wellheads, approximately 7.5 km far from them and near the Central Hendijan production platform (CHP) to receive two 8” and one 6” pipelines from HD6 onshore wellheads area. Central Hendijan Oil Gathering Platform (CH-OP) is a one-level receiving facility platform bridge-connected to the Central Hendijan production platform (CHP).
3. One 8\" pipeline from production header in HD6 to transport the crude oil from onshore to the Central Hendijan production platform (CHP) via the Central Hendijan Oil Gathering Platform (CH-OP).
4. One 6\" pipeline, from test header in HD6 to the new test separator, which will be installed on the Central Hendijan Oil Gathering Platform (CH-OP).
5. Power for electrical loads in HD6 onshore wellheads area will be supplied by local diesel generators working continuously and the small power loads on the Central Hendijan Oil Gathering Platform (CH-OP) will be supplied through subsea electrical cabling from Bahregansar new production platform to Central Hendijan production platform (CHP) which has been carried out by others in another Hendijan Oil Field project.
Reservoir fluids from the HD6 Field flows to the CH-OP in multiphase flow lines. On the Central Hendijan production platform (CHP), the reservoir fluids will be gathered and exported to the Bahregansar new production platform for further processing through existing 12” pipeline.
IOOC has awarded an EPC Contract to joint venture of Hirgan Energy and Samandis to execute the project.
Operators:
National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC)
Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) (subsidiary of NIOC)
Contractors:
Hirgan Energy–Samandis Joint Venture Company: EPC contract for basic engineering, detailed design, site engineering, site supervision, procurement, manufacturing, construction, pre-commissioning.
- to carry out the early production of the Northern Hendijan oil field project, which included the installation of various oil platforms, pipelines, and a power source.
Iran Shipbuilding & Offshore Industries Complex (ISOICO): to supply equipment for the two wellhead platforms as well as 26 km of cable installation and 4.5 km of offshore pipe-laying (February, 2015)
National Iran Offshore Oil Company (NIOOC) (Iran) (Subsidiary of NIOC): to install more marine rigs in the Persian Gulf to boost oil production.
Pars Petro Zagros Engineering & Services Company (Iran): provided the full field reservoir simulation study for IOOC in the Hendijan field in preparation for a Master Development Plan.
Rah Goshayan e Darya (RGD) (Iran): conducted a diving operation in 2006 for the Gulf Piping Company as part of a pipe laying project for the Bahregansar and Hendijan fields.
