The project will see the proposed construction of an LNG terminal with first-phase send-out capacity of around 4 billion cubic metres per annum (400 million cubic feet per day or 2.9 mtpa), which could be doubled in a further expansion.
The proposal overseen a permanent platform and a FRSU to convert the LNG back into gas. The receiving facility is located just off the Mediterranean coast at Hadera. The facility is to be located 2.5 km offshore and will be adjacent to the coal unloading terminal of the Israel Electric Corp. Hadera has access to Israel\'s subsea western loop pipeline.
The BOT tender includes the construction of the LNG terminal and its operation for 20-30 years, in exchange for regular royalties to be financed by gas transportation proceeds.
