Location: 180 km southeast of Bushehr port, Iran (between the South Pars and North Pars fields)

Recoverable gas reserves: 9 - 13 trillion cubic feet
Ferdowsi Gas Field is one of the NIOC recent discoveries which is located at approximately 180 km southeast of Bushehr port, 85 km offshore the Persian Gulf.
On December 26, 2007 the contract for development of the field was signed between NIOC and SKS of Malaysia, with presence of the Petroleum of Iran.
Master Development Plan (drafted in 2007), US$2 billion
The plan will cover the drilling of 13 initial producing wells, one gas production platform, one 26in pipeline and an onshore processing plant plus support facilities.
The field has FDP contracts awarded but they were not executed and currently there is no development plant in place. NIOC planned to award the field to Iranian companies. (2013)
