Project Profile

Value: US$5 billion
Location: Persian Gulf
Start-up Year: 2014
Water Depth: 52 metres

The Safaniya Field is the largest offshore oil reservoir ever discovered. It is located about 265 kilometres (165 mi) north of the company headquarters in Dhahran in the Persian Gulf, Saudi Arabia.

Berri was originally designed as a gas collection and compression center to process trapped gas from the Berri oil field, but it has become one of the centerpieces of our Master Gas System.

The Abu Sa’afa oilfield is equally shared by Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. In support of the Bahraini economy, Saudi Arabia has provided Bahrain with 140,000 barrels of output per day from its share of the Abu Safa field, free of charge, since 1996.

Marjan’s offshore facilities are expected to be designed to handle around 300,000 barrels per day of oil and will involve more than 100 development wells.
