Project Profile
Estimated Value: US$5,500 million
Location: Manifa, Saudi Arabia
Start-up Year: 2013
The Aramco- Manifa Oil Field Project comprises the following:
1) Gas facilities at the Khursaniyah gas plant, in order to expand processing capacity to process the Manifa sour gas and condensates. Several new facilities will need to be built, including gas sweetening and sulphur recovery units, an inlet facility and a feed gas compressor.
2) Manifa central processing facilities (MCPF) to handle 900,000 bpd Arabian Heavy crude, 120 million cubic feet/day sour gas, 50,000 bpd of condensate and 950,000 bpd of produced water.
3) Water supply system, to supply 1.75 million bpd of Wasia aquifer water to a water injection plant at Manifa. It will comprise six water supply drill sites with seven wellseach, as well as electric submersible pumps, sand traps and a corrosio inhibitor system.
4) Downstream pipelines and terminal facilities to transport the oil, condensates and gas from Manifa to Khursaniyah and the Juaymah export terminal. This will entail four new pipelines, ranging in length from 70-165 kms and 12-48 inches in diameter.
The first package covers the central processing core hydrocarbons facilities to handle 900,000 barrels a day (b/d) of Arabian Heavy crude, 120 million cubic feet a day of sour gas, 50,000 b/d of condensate and 950,000 b/d of produced water.
Package two is for the central processing utilities, covering crude and gas storage and shipping.
Package three covers central processing power generation and the main substation.
The fourth package covers gas processing facilities at the Khursaniyah gas plant to accommodate the sour gas and condensate.
Crude produced from the development will be exported from the Juaymah and Ras Tanura export terminals.
