Snefrid Nord was discovered in 2015 about 12 kilometres north from the Aasta Hansteen field. Recoverable reserves are estimated at about five billion cubic metres of gas. The field is located about 300 km from the mainland on more than 1,300 metres of sea depth. The capital expenditures for the Snefrid Nord development total about US$143.2 million. Snefrid Nord is planned to start producing in the fourth quarter of 2019. Snefrid Nord will produce some four million cubic metres of gas per day in the plateau phase, the planned productive life being 5-6 years. Statoil is the operator with an interest of 51%. The partners are Wintershall Norge, OMV Norge, and ConocoPhillips Skandinavia.
