The Tampen Link Pipeline is a natural gas pipeline in the North Sea. Tampen Link ties Statfjord into Britain’s existing Far North Liquids and Associated Gas System (Flags), which runs to St Fergus in Scotland. Running for 23.1 kilometres, the line increases Norway’s ability to export gas from its continental shelf and will have a technical capacity of 25 million standard cubic metres per day (MSm3/d). The 32-inch pipeline was carried out in April-May 2007 by the Castoro Sei laybarge. In June 2005, a contract worth about NOK 160 million (Approx: US$18.9 million) for laying the Tampen Link pipeline in the North Sea was given to Saipem UK. Tampen Link commenced operation on October 1, 2007, when the operatorship was transferred from Statoil to Gassco.
