Kondaneft, a former subsidiary of the Independent Petroleum Co. (NNK), won exploration and production rights to the Konda field group in February 2007. The cluster includes the Kondinsky, West-Erginsky and Chaprovsky licence areas, which contain the Kondinskoye, West Erginskoye, Chaprovskoye and Ob oilfields. The deposits are located 35-110 km south of the city of Khanty-Mansiysk. The fields contain 157 million tonnes (1.15 billion barrels) of oil reserves, according to industry consultants DeGolyer and MacNaughton. Licences for the Konda fields are valid until 2025.
Under a 2016-2023 development plan, Kondaneft plans to drill 1,000 wells at the Konda field cluster, achieving a peak output of 5 million tpy (100,000 bpd) of oil. Commercial production is slated to start at the first of the Konda fields in the fourth quarter of 2017. In April 2017, Rosneft announced its purchase of 100% of shares in Kondaneft for 40 billion rubles (US$700 million).
Operator: Rosneft with a 100% interest.
