Project Profile Value: US$450 M Location: Lodz Trough within the Polish Central Lowlands, Europe Area: 1,150kmsq Production: 87 bcf (2.46 bcm) and 3,000-6,000 boepd (expectations for the Boleslaw-1 exploration well) Depth: 1,000 - 4,000m Exploration start-up: 2014 The Kolo License area is located in the Lodz Trough within the Polish Central Lowlands, c120 km west of Warsaw. The Kolo License area is 1,150 square kilometres and is elongated in a NW-SE direction along the strike of the Lodz Trough, a well-known Mesozoic sedimentary basin. This basin is known in Poland by its salt mines (Klodava) but also by important manifestations of gas and oil in shallow water wells. In 2014 the operator gathered 1400km of vintage 2D seismic over the license area and gathered a further 250km of 2D seismic data. The Boleslaw-1 exploration well located within the Kolo licence could eventually yield 3,000-6,000 boepd. Prospex, an operator of the project, spudded the GBP1.25 million (US$1.58 million) Boleslaw-1 well on December 10, 2016. The Boleslaw prospect could hold 87 bcf (2.46 bcm) of technically prospective gas resources. Geology Recent geological studies and interpretation of geophysical data by Prospex have indicated that the Lodz Trough has the potential to contain commercial oil and gas accumulations at deeper and shallow levels in early and late Cretaceous sedimentary reservoir rocks, similarly to hydrocarbon provinces like the North Sea and the Baltic region. Prospex has identified a number of conventional oil and gas exploration targets, between 1,000 and 4,000m below the surface.
