Project Profile

Value: US$3.2 million (pipeline cost)
Location: 35km east of Milan, Lombardy Region, Italy

2P Reserves: 4.2 bcf of gas

Production: 16,000 cubic metres per day (May 2018)
Depth: 2,010 metres
Start-up year: April 2017
Bezzecca gas field is part of the Cascina Castello Licence. The Bezzecca Field was awarded production concession status in July 2014. Bezzecca was discovered in 2009 with the Bezzecca-1 well flowing gas at a combined rate of 3.9 million cubic feet per day (mcfpd) during testing. The well was drilled on 12 March 2009 to a depth of 2,010 metres and it was tested across three gas bearing levels - in the upper Miocene and in the lower Pliocene. Field activity on grant of the final production licence will primarily consist of construction of the 7 km pipeline to connect Bezzecca with the Castello surface gas plant from which it will be produced through.
Following connection to the Castello plant, the phased development plan requires subsequent drilling of a second well (Bezzecca-2) to drain the structurally highest portion of the field. Taken in combination, these factors substantially reduce the estimated volume of gas that is expected to be recovered from the gas bearing reservoirs accessed by the Bezzecca-1 well. The two-well production plan will access a revised 2P reserves estimate of 3 bcf.
TESI Srl is contracted for the master construction contract for the development of Bezzecca gas field. The contract is a turnkey contract for the construction of the 7 km pipeline and tie in to the existing Castello gas treatment plant. The time required to complete the pipeline construction and the tie-in works on site is expected to be completed by year end 2016.
