Project Profile
Location: Sleipner area, North Sea, Norway

Depth: 70 metres
Production start-up: 01.01.2002
The Sigyn Field is located in the Sleipner area in the central part of the North Sea in Production License 072. The oil field was proven in 1982 and lies in roughly 70 metres of water in the Sleipner area. In 2015, the average production on Sigyn was 18 million standard cubic feet of gas per day and 2,400 barrels of condensate per day.
The field comprises the deposits Sigyn Vest, with gas and condensate, and Sigyn Øst, with light oil. The main reservoir lies in the Triassic Skagerrak Formation at a depth of approximately 2700 metres. The reservoir quality is good. The field has been developed with a subsea template tied to Sleipner Øst. The well stream is transported to the Sleipner A platform 12 kilometres northwest of the well template. The field is 222 kilometres west of Stavanger and the water depth in the area in 70 metres. Sigyn has been developed with full wellstream transfer to Sleipner A and began production in 2002.
In August 2016, the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) gave consent to ExxonMobil to use the Island Frontier and Island Wellserver vessels for light well intervention at the Sigyn field. The activities are planned to last until the end of 2016. The period may also be extended into 2017 due to the availability of the vessels owned by Island Offshore.
