6406/3-2 (Trestakk) was discovered in 1986 and is located in PL 091.The discovery was delineated by well 6406/3-4 in 1987. The discovery is located in the Norwegian Sea, just south of Åsgard. The water depth is 300 metres. The reservoir contains oil and consists of Middle Jurassic sandstones in the Garn Formation. The sandstones were deposited in a shallow marine environment and are relatively homogeneous, with calcite cemented intervals. The top of the reservoir lies at a depth of 3,885 metres. The development solution decided for the field is a subsea tie-back. Statoil is the operator of the project with 100% interest.
