INPEX was successful in the 27th Seaward Licensing Round in UK, and was granted an offshore Exploration Licence P2019 (Block 214/25) in the North Sea, jointly with Centrica Resources, a subsidiary of Centrica, a UK-listed energy company and Statoil (U.K.), a subsidiary of Statoil, a Norwegian-listed oil company, in addition to the earlier awarded two licenses in the Round. The P2019 Licence is located offshore approx. 60km northwest of Shetland Island, to the north of the earlier awarded two Licences. The Joint venture plans to carry out seismic interpretation as the existing two Licences to explore for oil and natural gas in these Licences. The license is in depths of 300 to 700 metres and covers an area of 196 km2 approximately.

In October 2014 the partners relinquished the licence because the prospect was considered not economically viable.
