Project Profile

Value: US$55.9 million
Location: Block 44/24a, 29b and 30, approx. 25 km east of the Caister-Murdoch gas fields
Start-up year: June 2007
Production end: 2011

The Minke Main Field is situated in UK Block 44/24a approximately 25 km east of the producing Caister-Murdoch gas fields and 13 kilometres south west of the D15 platform in the Dutch sector. The Minke Main field was brought on production in June 2007 having been developed through a single sub-sea well, tied-back to the existing D15-A platform facilities offshore Holland, operated by ENGIE. Whilst the initial rates from Minke Main were 60 mmscfd, production performance decreased much more rapidly than predicted, most likely caused by mechanical problems in the well, and the field has been producing intermittently at very low rates.
