Det Norske Oljeselskap is primed to drill a wildcat at its Augunshaug prospect off Norway after gaining safety consent for use of jack-up Maersk Giant for the probe. The 2/1-15 well is scheduled to be drilled in early August in a water depth of 70 metres in Det Norske-operated production licence 542 in the southern North Sea, with an estimated duration of 60 days. The probe is targeting gross resource potential of 10 million to 80 million barrels of oil equivalent, which holds a 60% operated stake with partner Tullow Oil holding the remaining 40%.
