The project involves the exploration drilling of a discovery with more than 100mn bbl of oil. The Etan-1X discovery well was drilled to a total depth of 15,007ft (4,574m) in 5,463ft (1,720m) of water. The well logged 394ft (120m) of hydrocarbon-bearing sands. It is in the southeast corner of the block only around 30km southwest of the Doro gas field.
