Kuyumba-Taishet stretches just under 700 km between the Kuyumba village in Baykit province and an oil pumping station in Taishet, where it connects with the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO) pipeline. The project included construction of four oil pumping stations and a tank farm of 120,000 cubic metres capacity as well as associated infrastructure.
Construction and assembly began in 2013 with the pipeline becoming operational in December 2016. Initial capacity was 173,000 bpd, although capacity is slated to rise to 300,000 bpd by 2023.
The project received the green light from the Russian government after the Russian Prime Minister signed a government decree authorising the pipeline. The budget of Kuyumba-Taishet Pipeline is 124 billion rubles (US$2.2 billion). The construction was financed by the state. The pipeline will be built by Transneft, Russia\'s state-owned oil pipeline monopoly.
