Frontier licenses P 1849 was awarded in 2011 to Rocksource (UK) Limited as an addition to the P1484. Located on the northwest margin of the Faroe Shetland Basin the blocks are situated in close proximity to the Eocene Tobermory gas discovery (214/4-1) & the oil/gas discovery well 214/9-1 (Bunnehaven). The recent discovery at Rosebank & Lochnagar also lies on trend, 50 km to the southwest. The Frontier License work program to reprocess 3D seismic has been completed, and studies of the prospective intervals are ongoing. In addition to the Upper Palaeocene and Upper Eocene, deeper stritigraphic levels and sill related structures are investigated. A drill or drop decision will be provided by February 2015. The license covers an area of 1,080 sq km.
