Chrysaor is the 100% WI owner and operator of the Phoenix gas condensate field located in Block 13/22b which lies in the middle of the Moray Firth Basin, some 8 km south of the Captain Field and 80km north of St Fergus. The discovery well, 13/22b-4, was drilled by Kerr McGee in 1990 and tested two Upper Jurassic sand intervals. The aggregate flow rate was 4,962bopd of 48° API condensates and 22.4mmscfd of gas. The Phoenix block was awarded to Chrysaor in the UKCS 25th licensing round on the basis of a 4 year drill-or-drop obligation. Engineering work and commercial discussions are ongoing to enable a fully sanctioned FDP to be submitted for DECC approval as soon as practicable.
