Project Profile

Location: PL359, southwest flank of the Utsira High, North Sea, Norway
Gross resources: 40-100 mmboe (September, 2017)
Water Depth: 101 metres
Start-up Year: -

Lundin Petroleum has hit good quality light oil in an exploration well on the Luno II prospect in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. 16/4-6S well intersected a significant gross reservoir section of close to 200 metres with a gross oil column of more than 40 metres. The oil water contact was encountered at a depth of roughly 1,950 metres. The pressure data from the well indicated the petroleum system in Luno II was different to that seen in the Edvard Grieg and Johan Sverdrup field.

Luno II lies in PL359 on the southwest flank of the Utsira High, in a water depth of 101 metres, about 15 kilometres south of Lundin\'s Edvard Grieg field.  Luno II was discovered in 2013 and another minor discovery was made in Luno II North in 2015. The concept studies will consider both a stand-alone development of Luno II, as well as an overall development with Luno II North.
