Total has signed two production-sharing contracts (PSCs) for blocks 10 and 11 offshore the Republic of Cyprus in February 2013. The PSCs were awarded following the government’s second offshore exploration licensing round that was launched in 2012. The licenses cover 5,530 sq km (2,135 sq mi) southwest of Cyprus, in water depths ranging from 1,000-2,500 m (3,281-8,202 ft). The company initially plans to acquire 3-D seismic on block 11 and 2-D seismic on block 10.
Block 10
Total relinquished the asset in early 2015 before Zohr was discovered because it could not find a low-risk target. In the 2016 bidding round Total bid on Block 10, but lost out to the US/Qatari partnership.
Block 11
Drill date announced in January and targeted for mid-2017.
