Scotney prospect is an oil prospect located in licence P1658 in the UK sector of the North Sea. The Scotney prospect has been mapped as a four-way dip closure at the Base Cretaceous Unconformity level with Late Jurassic Tweedsmuir sands as the main reservoir objective and has been estimated to hold best estimate gross prospective resources of 57 million barrels. Suncor Energy has spudded the first wildcat on the Scotney prospect in February 2013. The first well is being drilled using the semi-submersible Awilco WilHunter and is expected to take about 36 days to drill to a total depth of 3,225 m, on a dryhole basis.
