Water depth: 32 m
Discovery year: 1982
Start-up year: 2010
The Ceres gas field is situated on UK Block 47/9c in the North Sea in a water depth of 32 m (105 ft).
In July 2008, the Ceres gas appraisal well, 47/9c-11x, successfully tested gas at a maximum rate of 40 MMcf/d through a 96/64-inch choke. The gas was produced from the Rotliegend reservoir between 3,139 m and 4,755 m measured depth below rotary table. The well was completed as the field production well on the Ceres discovery.
Eris, situated on Blocks 43/3h and 47/8c, lies in 39 m of water. The field was discovered in 2007. The gas fields were jointly developed. Ceres was developed as a single well subsea tied-back jointly with the Eris discovery with first gas commencing in March 2010.
