Diyarbakir Oil Field Area lies in the Diyarbakır Province in Turkey\'s southeastern Anatolia region. In January 1996, Perenco took over the oil field area and is now the operator of the fields with 100% interest. The daily production from the area is at 8,000 bopd. Perenco currently operates some 200 wells and seven production gathering stations within a 100km long zone. Perenco\'s export facility is located at the Pirinclik terminal, which exports crude oil to Mediterranean seaports. Production levels have been sustained through recompletions, reactivations, secondary recovery by water injection, deepening, sidetracking, and by both development and exploration drilling activities. Two workover rigs are dedicated to well maintaince and one drilling rig is dedicated to development and exploration works. Since 2007 several permits have expired and have been handed back to the government. Currently there is a new drilling program proposed to evaluate further potentials in the region.
