The licence was awarded in the 26th Round to First Oil and subsequently Endeavour Energy UK Limited farmed into the licence for 30% equity. The initial work programme commitments, including seismic PSTM reprocessing, AVO and seismic inversion, have been fulfilled and a full evaluation of the prospectivity completed integrating all available data.
The primary prospect is Manatee, a 3-way dip closed fault bounded Tay Fm sandstone structural trap with strong amplitude and AVO support. Additional potential is recognised underlying Manatee in the Rigby prospect (Cromarty Sst) and the Protector Prospect (Upper Jurassic Fulmar Fm Sst). On the licence follow on prospectivity is recognised at multiple stratigraphic levels in
the Paleocene and also the Fulmar.
The Manatee prospect is at a depth of approximately1,000m (3,280ft) TVDSS and is a 3-way dip closed fault trap. The reservoir is the Tay Fm sandstone which is expected to have excellent reservoir properties. A bright amplitude response is associated with Manatee which conforms with structure and indicates a light oil response. An exploration well is planned to be drilled in summer 2014 with a budgeted DHC of £13.5MM to penetrate all three stacked prospects.
