Cambo was discovered originally back in 2004 when an exploration well encountered a 50 metre Paleocene oil column which was further appraised later. Cambo was drilled with the West Navion drillship. Cambo is north of Foinaven, Schiehallion and the 1999 Suilven oil discovery.
Appraisal well Cambo 3 in block 204/10 was drilled in April-July 2009.
Appraisal well Cambo 4 in block 204/10a was drilled in waters of 1,080m using the drillship Stena Carron in June 2011.
Cambo 5 exploration well is one of the deepest to be drilled in the UK offshore sector.
