The Aileen prospect in Licence P1839 (26th Round licence) covers approximately 880 square kilometres and contains a substantial Upper Cretaceous Commodore Sand prospect (Aileen) and associated lead (Ailsa). The prospect lies within the Foula sub-basin, west of the Shetland Islands, UK. The co-venturers are Faroe Petroleum (50% and Operator), and EON Ruhrgas UK E&P Ltd (50%). The work programme consists of a minimum of 300km of 2D seismic purchase, 3D reprocessing and various seismic studies to fully evaluate the prospectivity. In the summer of 2011, Faroe Petroleum completed the acquisition of new high resolution long offset data, in accordance with the licence work obligations, which is now being interpreted ahead of a drill or drop decision.
