In November 2011, Chevron Phillips completed the acquisition of a PAO plant located in Beringen, Belgium from Neste Oil, NV (Neste Oil was a 60/40 joint venture with Jacobs Engineering). The addition of the plant more than doubled the companies PAO production capability. PAOs are used in synthetic products, such as lubricants, greases and fluids, and have emerged as essential components in many industries and applications. The plant first began operations in 199. 1It was originally designed to produce 20,000 MT/year, but capacity was gradually debottlenecked to reach name plate capacity of 60,000 MT/year in 2010.
