On April 2012, TPAO, the national oil and gas company of Turkey, awarded GSP Jupiter (ILC jackup) a contract for offshore drilling services. The jackup started drilling the Istranca-1 well, plus one optional well, on Block 3920 in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea. The Istranca prospect is situated in Block 3920 in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea, in 85 metres / 281 feet. On October 2012, the Istanca-1 exploration well encountered natural gas at a depth of 11,975 feet in Middle Miocene sandstones. Drilling was done by the GSP Jupiter (300\' ILC) at water depth of 278 feet.
