The Noor prospect is situated in PL457 in 370 feet of water and is part of Block 16/1. The acreage was acquired through APA 2007 in March 2008. The work commitment consists of reprocessing 3D seismic and G&G studies. A drill or drop decision is required to be made within the first four years of the license term. The Tertiary Aglaja Prospect is assumed to be a sand injectite. Similar hydrocarbon filled reservoirs are found in Volund and in several of the Tertiary fields and discoveries in the South Viking Graben. Noor will be drilled approximately 3 kilometres north of the Edvard Grieg field and approximately 3 kilometres east of the oil discovery 16/1-9 Ivar Aasen in the central part of the North Sea. The Bredford Dolphin (mid-water semisub) will be used to drill the well. This is the first well to be drilled within the area of the license. Wintershall Norge is the operator with 40 percent interest. Other partners are VNG Norge with 20%; Bridge Energy with 20% and E.ON Ruhrgas Norge with the remaining 20%.
