The Aviat gas field is situated in the North Sea on Block 22/7a in license P87 and consists of 99% methane gas. Apache is using the jack-up Mobile Drilling Unit (MoDU) Rowan Gorilla VII (450\' ILC) to drill its Aviat appraisal well. This appraisal well is designed to assess whether this shallow gas field can provide fuel to operate the Forties Field to offset diesel import.

The field\'s FDP involves the drilling of up to two wells tied back via a 23 km 8” pipeline to the Forties Alpha Platform.

The Environmental Statement for the field was issued on 2nd July 2014, after which development drilling commenced in the third quarter of 2015.

Flexlife: Subsea project management and engineering support contract. (May, 2015)
- includes work on the Aviat gas development in the Central North Sea, the Ness/Nevis tie in and general subsea operations support and will span for three years.

Ezra Holdings Limited (through the Group’s, EMAS AMC):
- fabrication of rigid pipeline, with the subsea project scope of work including project management, detailed EPCI of 23.2 km rigid pipelines and 24 km umbilical via reel, flexible riser, spools, and structures as well as pre-commissioning.
- Lewek Express pipelay reel vessel to perform the pipeline installation.


EXHEAT: Provision of an Ex D (explosion-proof) electric gas flow heater and safe area thyristor control.

Bibby Offshore: Provision of subsea construction, ROV and diving services.
- will utilise Bibby Offshore’s multi role diving support vessel the Bibby Topaz
- involves well tie-ins and spool change-out at the Aviat and Bacchus locations. (May, 2016)
