The Armada area is located 250 km northeast of Aberdeen in the UK sector of the North Sea, and extends over five blocks, 22/5b, 22/5a, 16/29a, 22/4a, and 16/29c. Armada spans more than 31 sq. km and consists of three gas/condensate accumulations, Fleming, Drake and Hawkins. The three fields transport their hydrocarbons to the Armada platform, located in Block 22/5 of the Central North Sea. Armada is a single platform consisting of a four-legged steel space frame jacket supporting a single integrated deck containing wellhead, process and accommodation facilities and two export pipelines. As additional discoveries were made in the immediate area, Armada has been developed as a production hub. Modifications were made to the Armada platform in 2006 and 2007 to allow oil production from the Seymour and subsequently the Maria fields to be processed.
The Rev oil and gas field is located on Block 15/12 in 87m of water in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. Discovered in 2001, the 15/12-12 well, spudded by the Scarabeo 6 semisub, was drilled to a total depth of 3,085m in the Triassic Skagerrak formation. From 2003 to 2007, several appraisal wells were drilled, followed by a submitted developmental plan to build a pipeline from Rev to the Armada platform. The well stream is routed through a 10-kilometre pipeline to the Armada field in the UK sector for processing at the Central Area Transmission System (CATS) terminal, and further export to the UK.
The field was developed with three subsea gas producers connected to the Armada field on the British continental shelf. First production from the field began in April 2009. The field had a peak production of 2.83 million cubic metres of gas and 6,000 barrels of condensate and natural gas liquids per day.
