The Obite-Ubeta-Rumuji field upgrade and gas pipeline is a large gas reserve project. The project involves the construction of pipelines to increase gas transportation capacity to NLNG. The scope of the project includes the following:
IBEWA: Production cluster - 7 gas wells, 1 spare slot.
OBITE-IBEWA: 12\" HP gas line plus electric/fibre optic cabling.
OBITE: Treatment centre.
OBITE-OBAGI: 12\" HP gas line, 6\" condensate line. Electric/fibre optic cabling.
OBAGI: Flow station
OBAGI-RUMUEKPE: 12\" gas line
Obagi production start-up - 1996 - 60kb/d
Obagi production 2004 - 76 kboe/d. Production increase through debottlenecking.
Obagi upgrade targeted for 2008 start-up for further 32 kboe/d
The project also includes the construction of 47 km of line pipe needed for further development of assets in the Niger Delta. The specifics cover 40 km and 7 km of 36-inch diameter line made up of two different pipe thicknesses.
