The Aerosmith prospect (Blocks 6506/8, 10 and 11) is located approximately 20 kilometres from the Morvin and Smørbukk Fields in the prolific Halten Terrace hydrocarbon province of the Norwegian Sea. The licence contains three prospects and three leads. The main Aerosmith and Aerosmith Deep prospects are Lange Formation reservoirs, similar to the target in Faroe’s T-Rex well in PL 431. The work programme consists of reprocessing existing 3D seismic, with a decision to acquire new 3D or drop the licence within one and a half years and a drill or drop decision within 3 years. The PL644 licence was awarded to Faroe Petroleum(20% interest) in the APA 2011 licensing round and the partners are OMV (30% and operator), Repsol (20%), Centrica (20%) and Skagen44 (10%).
