Project Profile
Value: US$400 million
Location: 30km southeast of Abidjan, Offshore Cote D\'Ivoire
Start-up Year: 4Q 2013
Reserves: 56m bbl of oil and condensate and 391 Bcf of gas
Area: 675 sq km
The block contains five discoveries where 13 wells were drilled between 1977 to 2003 of which 12 discovered hydrocarbons. The development will focus on two fields, Hippo and Gazelle, and the project scope will include a mobile offshore production unit (MOPU), a floating storage and offloading system and two new wellhead platforms with associated pipelines. Five wells have been drilled on the Gazelle field encountering more than 370m of gross oil and gas. While the platform on Hippo would take in two small oil discoveries and one large oil and condensate discovery. The MOPU will be situated at Gazelle and the FSO at Hippo, 15km to the southeast. The field has contingent mean resources of 56m bbl of oil and condensate and 391 Bcf of gas.
The CI-202 block contains the Gazelle gas field, which is the current focus of development, with first production expected in 2016. In August 2015, Azonto Petroleum completed sale of its shares in Vioco Petroleum to Vitol.
