The Ipswich oil field is located on Block 1/3 in 236 feet (72 metres) of water in the Danish North Sea.
Ipswich was discovered through well 1/3-11 which proved oil in rocks of Paleocene-age. The well was drilled to a total depth of 10,604 feet (3,232 metres).
