Water Depth: 350m/1,148 ft
The Fram area compromises the Fram West, Fram East and Fram North oil fields, located about 12 miles (20 kilometers) north of the Troll field at a depth of approximately 1,148 feet (350 meters). Situated on Block 35/11, Statoil serves as the operator, holding a 45% interest; Mobil Development Norway holds 25%; Idemitsu holds 15%; and GDF Suez E&P Norge AS holds 15%.
Field developments on each consist of two four-well subsea templates connected via pipelines to the Troll C platform for processing.
Fram West
Receiving governmental approval on March 23, 2001, the field came online on Oct. 2, 2003, and produces about 60,000 bopd.
Fram East
Fram East received development approval on April 22, 2005, commenced production on Oct. 30, 2006 and produces about 50,000 bopd.
Fram North
Fram North is currently under development.
