The Typhoon prospect is located in license P1485 in the UK sector of the North Sea. Hurricane Exploration operates the license. Hurricane Resources acquired a site survey over the Typhoon prospect during summer 2011 and is now working on well plans with the objective of drilling in 2012, subject to rig availability. Prospective resources could be in the range 149 MMbbl to 1.266 Bbbl. Hurricane believes these resources could comprise volumes of lighter oil deeper within the prospect, as a flank accumulation. As of April 2017, no further work had been carried out at Typhoon as Hurricane focused its resources on developing the basement Greater Lancaster area.
