PGK acquired the Pre-Caspian License at government-mandated auction in October 2006. The license area covers 1,437km2 in the Saratov region to the east of the Volga River. The southern edge of the license area is Russia\'s border with Kazakhstan. The company believes the area covered by the Pre-Caspian License (the Pre-Caspian Licence Area) may be analogous to the Karpenskiy License Area. The Pre-Caspian License has no material reserves or resources currently. The newly-issued license is a 25-year exploration and production license.
