Project Profile Value: US$100-150 M Depth: 9,427 ft (2011) Average gas to oil ratio: 150 scf/bbl (2011) Location: Block 22/15 in the Central North Sea The Esperanza exploration prospect is located in Block 22/15. COPL has a farm-in agreement whereby it will pay 75% of the costs to drill one Paleocene Forties well to earn a 50% equity interest. The target for the well is in a strong, far-offset amplitude anomaly at the northwest end of an 11 km channel AVO seismic anomaly that includes the Banks disovery to the southeast. In 2011 BG was granted a two year extension for the project by relinquishing 50% if the block (22/15b,c) and drilling the Esperanza 22/15-4 well. BG relinquished the residual part of the licence, 22/15a on 15th November 2013. Canadian Overseas Petroleum Limited bought 50% in the project for US$15 million. Shell bought the BG Group in 2016.
